Why Era of Mother

We learned how to raise the child. No one taught us how to become the mother.

Era of Mother exists for the woman undergoing one of the most profound transformations of her life while simultaneously being asked to care for everyone else.

We believe motherhood is not simply a role you take on. It is a developmental transformation of identity, body, relationships, purpose, and self.

And the mother deserves language, tools, and spaces designed for her transformation, too.

Who is nurturing the mother while she nurtures everyone else?

That question sits at the center of everything we create.

Era of Mother brings maternal development out of the margins through original methodology, guided reflection, restorative experiences, and meaningful connection.

The Work

Motherhood changes you. We give that change a map.

The work is grounded in two original Era of Mother methodologies: the Motherhood Map and the Motherhood Ecosystem.

The Motherhood Map gives language to the developmental transformation of motherhood — helping women locate where they are within the change.

The Motherhood Ecosystem widens the lens, helping a mother understand the interconnected parts of her life that are holding her together, asking for attention, or ready to evolve.

These methodologies come to life through The Motherhood Journal and Era of Mother Residencies.

The Woman Behind the Work

Yezenia Manke

Yezenia Manke is an educator, writer, mother of four, and founder of Era of Mother.

With a master's degree in Educational Leadership and a career spent building programs around human development, Yezenia began asking a question that her professional training had never answered: Where was the developmental framework for the mother?

Her work grew from the intersection of professional study and lived experience — the realization that while enormous attention is given to how children develop, far less language exists for understanding the woman developing alongside them.

Era of Mother is her response: a body of work devoted to helping women understand where they are, reconnect with who they are, and participate intentionally in who they are becoming.

Movement, led by

Chris Gottlieb

Movement is an integral part of the Era of Mother experience — not as punishment, performance, or another expectation placed on women, but as a way back to the body.

Chris Gottlieb is a NASM-certified personal trainer, mother of two, and founder of Eat. Lift. Love. Training. Since 2016, she has helped women build strength, confidence, and a more sustainable relationship with movement and their bodies.

Her approach is rooted in strength without extremes — creating practices that can support women through the changing seasons of their lives and motherhood.

As Movement Lead for Era of Mother, Chris guides the physical experience within our Residencies, using intentional movement to help women reconnect with their bodies, build strength, release tension, and feel fully present in themselves again.

Because nurturing the mother means nurturing the body carrying her through it all.

You are raising them. You are becoming, too.

Motherhood does not require the disappearance of the woman.

Era of Mother is here to make space for both.
